Eid - Novembre 2004
Eid - November 2004 |
|
|
|
pendant quelques jours.
For the Eid holiday following Ramadan, we went sailing for a few days. |

Juste
Just
before arriving at the marina we could take that picture of flamingos
right by the roadside. And at the marina itself, herons are
getting less and less shy. |

Ancrés à "Bird Island". Remarquez notre
"breeze booster".
Anchored at "Bird Island". The "breeze booster" is very efficient to feel the slitghest breeze inside . |

Because our sailboat has a retractable keel, we can anchor very close to the beach. |

Le
lendemain, nous décidons de retourner à Bird
Island. Le ciel est sans nuage et il n'y a pas un brin de
vent.
The day after we decide to go back to Bird Island. The sky is cloudless
and there's no wind. We are motoring. But after few hours, we are
chased by this huge black cloud! |

On
noeuds ! Ca va durer entre 5 et 10 minutes.
We rush inside and Marc hold the tiller from inside, and has to put a
cushion on his arm to avoid the hail. We can't see where we're
going and just with the mainsail up we're doing 5.5. knots ! That will
last between 5 and 10 minutes. |

Lise l'a baptisée : Plumovent
Just before sunset, this dove probably lost in the wind landed at the bow of the boat and spent the night with us.
Lise gave her a name: Plumovent
(meaning: feathers in the wind) |

At dawn Plumovent is still there. But as soon as we went on the deck she left.
Let's hope she found the land. |

Marc
a dû aller vérifier l'ancre quelques fois, dont juste
avant d'aller dormir. Au retour il se réchauffe dans la
